"Gift of a Second Chance"

Gary and Elissa Wahlenmaier

The Family

Gary and his wife Elissa live in Southern Califonia, Orange County. They have been married for eight years. Between them, they have raised three wonderful and loving children. Gary has become a grandfather. His daughter Lauren gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on December 27. 2008. Her name is Chanel. Elissa is proud to be "step-grandma" but still considers herself to be too young for such a title! Tyler, the oldest of the three children continues hard at his job and has turned twenty-one. Mischell, the youngest has graduated from high school and will continue on to college with help from her 4.0 gpa. Gary and Elissa could not be prouder of thier children.

The Labor and the Love

In addition to writing, Gary still spends the better part of his day working as a union glazier. He is currently building an addition to the forever expanding Campus of U.S.C. After a long day in the field he finds time to spend with his wife and family who has given him a lot of support in writing "Gift of a Second Chance." Gary is currently writing his second book featuring "One-Eye Joe Lane" entitled, " How Could I Have Missed?"

The Inspiration

Many people have asked Gary why he would elect to write about his transformation. He has said, "Although this was a very personal journey, the only reason that I am able to share this story with everyone is that it was God's intention. As titled, my second chance was given on the pretense that I would share the truth to the world that God is the living word." Gary remains inspired through the word and the ministry of Pastor Chuck Smith at "Calvary Chapel" in Costa Mesa, California- and is involved in the studies of Dr. Charles F. Stanley of the "InTouch Ministries" and Pastor Arnold Murrey of "Shepards Chapel" in Gravette,Arkansas.
